Perth-Andover Hotel Dieu
Foundation is a registered charity established in 1991. The purpose of the
Foundation is to provide patient care equipment for HDSJ Perth-Andover not able
to be funded through the regular hospital operating budget.
The hospital was first opened in
1947
by the Religious Hospitallers of St Joseph. Today it is sponsored by Catholic Health International and
operated by Horizon Health Network. The Foundation is governed by a 10 member volunteer board.
The Hotel Dieu of St.
Joseph Foundation was incorporated on August 30, 1991 in preparation for the
1992 dissolution of all Hospital Boards in NB under Regionalization.
Our Letters Patent (#024062) were issued by the NB Minister of Justice. We are
formally incorporated under the New Brunswick Companies Act as the Perth-Andover
Hotel Dieu Foundation Inc.
The Hospital Foundation is a registered charity under the Income Tax Act of the
Department of National Revenue. We issue official tax deductible receipts. We
are audited regularly and our foundation treasurer files an annual return under
the Companies Act of New Brunswick.
We are unpaid volunteers who raise money to keep quality health care, here in
Victoria County, closer and more convenient to the people.
Our mandate is to inspire and engage the community to actively support the work
of Hotel Dieu of St. Joseph Hospital through a variety of fundraisers and
projects.
All of the funds raised go to provide Hotel Dieu of Saint
Joseph Hospital with the most up-to-date equipment, staff education, health
research and other needs as identified by the facilities manager. The
foundation meets over lunch the first
Tuesday
of each month, September to June, in the Hospital Conference Room. Meetings are
open to the public.
